Foster Care Prom Campaign

There are currently 5,000 children in foster care in Hillsborough County and of those almost 800 of them will spend their entire childhood in foster care. Growing up in foster care can be a difficult experience and a lot of times kids do not get to experience the things most of us take for granted. Things like family vacations or trips to the beach. Many of these kids do not have the opportunity to participate in little league or go out to dinner at a nice restaurant. They also do not receive extra money for school pictures or for yearbooks and they may never have the opportunity to buy new shoes or get a new outfit for school.

The Foster Care Prom Campaign was created with the purpose of reaching out to high school girls currently in the foster care system. Our prayer is that we can begin to build relationships with some amazing girls in the Tampa area and give them a special day they will never forget. On the day of their Prom, these girls will have the opportunity to come to one of three designated locations and receive a dress, shoes, a hair appointment, nail appointment, a ticket to their dance, a prom picture, and a small goody bag full of essentials for their special night.
