BASIC NEEDS
Thousands of people in our community live every day without access to even the most
basic
needs. Many of us take for granted the food we eat or
the clothes we wear, but for some life
with such things is hard to fathom. Ministries in this
category are aimed at meeting these basic needs.
EDUCATIONAL
Ministries in the educational category are aimed at
building relationships and meeting the needs of people
through
educational assistance. Ministries will include
everything from tutoring children in the community to
baking cookies for our local teachers. Also
under the educational category are ministries like ESL
(English as a Second Language) classes and sports
clinics.
HEALTH CARE
Ministries in the
healthcare category are aimed at meeting the needs of
individuals that are under the care of others. This could
range from someone staying in the hospital for short
time to a more permanent situation such as a nursing home.
We will have volunteers going to most of the area
hospitals as well as area nursing homes. Teams will
have the
opportunity to pray and spend time with people who are
likely going though one of the more difficult times of
their lives.
RELATIONAL
The heart and soul
of Christianity is building relationships with people in
all walks of life. One of
the primary goals of Reaching Tampa and the entire
premise behind the ministry is to build
relationships with people that under normal
circumstances might not cross paths with a local
church. Ministries in this
category are completely geared towards spending time
with people in our community. Ministries will include visiting
assisted living facilities, mentoring youth, working
with seafarers at the port and much more.
SERVICE
Ministries in this category are primarily one time
projects that show the love of Christ through serving
others. Projects will
include
everything from raking yards to trimming trees, painting
houses, churches, and much more.
